SIXTY years after it was first seen on stage, Agatha Christie classic The Mousetrap will embark on its first-ever UK tour.
The world’s longest stage production, which entered its 60th year in London’s West End last week, will tour for 60 weeks with an all-star cast.
The UK tour, which visits the Mayflower Theatre from November 5 to 10, 2012, is one of 60 professional productions worldwide.
The whodunnit is set in the Great Hall of Monkswell Manor in 1952.
Young couple Mollie and Giles have started a guesthouse in the converted old manor and they and their odd assortment of guests are snowed in.
When a murder takes place, it quickly transpires that the killer could be any one of the guests, or even the hosts themselves.
The characters re-enact the second murder, trying to prevent a third.
At last, Sergeant Trotter assembles everyone in the hall with the plan to set a trap for one of the suspects.
