PUPILS are back at their desks at Kings Park Primary School after its forced evacuation on Friday.
The school re-opened this morning despite pupils and staff becoming ill due to what the fire brigade described as “a respiratory irritant.”
A spokesman for Bournemouth council said: “Following monitoring tests by the Fire Service and Environmental Health at King’s Park School, which took place on Friday afternoon and again first thing this morning, we can confirm that the results have shown no evidence of contamination to the air quality and the monitoring readings are normal.
“Therefore, the Fire Service has confirmed that the school site is safe for children and staff to return.”
A small group of parents refused to allow their children to return to school until they have been given more information.
