CALLING all aspiring musicians. Next month Bournemouth will be hosting the Daily Echo backed Music Industry Conference 2011.

Located at the Trouville Hotel on Priory Road, people from around the country will be attending the event on October 1-2 to find out how to pursue a career in the music industry.

Delegates can hear stories from Abbey Road Studios, find out how to get their music on national radio with BBC Introducing and learn how to break their band using the internet thanks to Music Industry Education.

Many more professionals are confirmed including record labels, music management companies, signed artists and music journalists.

Organiser, Suzy Wheeler of local company Strawberry Lantern Events comments: “The competitive industry is forever changing and musicians will benefit to understand the business side. This unique event gives people direct access to top quality professionals and this is a fantastic opportunity right here in Bournemouth.”

The event format has been inspired by Europe’s largest music conference, The Great Escape in Brighton, and by working with Bristol Music Foundation and Music South West, Strawberry Lantern Events are able to invite their network to develop the music scene.

Music Industry Conference 2011 could not happen without support from the commercial sector and this year White Circle Video Productions is the main sponsor along with partners Absolute Music, Percussion Works, Dorset Music Forum and the Daily Echo.

People are encouraged to buy tickets early and can find further information online at www.micbomo.co.uk or by phoning Strawberry Lantern Events on 01202 290720.
