PLANNING chiefs have dramatically ruled against the proposed four-turbine wind farm in Purbeck.
Members of Purbeck District Council's planning board agreed,at an earlier meeting, they were "minded to grant consent" for the farm at Master's Quarry, East Stoke.
Today, the board met to debate a list of strict conditions, including noise restrictions, that had been laid down by the council to green energy company Infinergy.
But after the highly-charged meeting, attended by around 200 residents, the planning board voted eight to two against the proposal.
Geoff Edwardes, president of Dorset Against Rural Turbines, said: "This is a victory, but I fully expect it won't be the end of things.
"There is nothing to stop Infinergy from appealing this decision."
