SUMMER is on its way and the date has been announced for one of Poole’s most popular outdoor events.

The ever-popular Party in the Park will take place on the green at Ashley Cross on September 4.

Now in its 11th year, this year’s festival will feature the usual line-up of quality live music.

There will also be stalls, games, children’s activities and a huge variety of food to choose from.

The event has evolved from the early days when it was known as Brunch in the Park and now attracts hundreds of revellers each year.

Jane Jones, from organisers JJ PR, said that despite the financial downturn the event had retained strong support.

“I am thrilled with the level of support we have so far received this year,” she said.

“I think it just goes to show that despite the downturn, companies are still keen to get involved in community events.”

Solicitors Humphries Kirk will be the main sponsor, while the Daily Echo, Frost & Co, Realty Property Solutions and the Barker Group will also be backing the event.

Richard Cossey, marketing manager at Humphries Kirk, said: “Our ethos is to show support for the community wherever possible, so an event taking place right outside our Parkstone office ticks all the boxes.”
