THE judge in the trial of two men charged with misleading customers over the Lapland New Forest attraction has begun summing up the case at Bristol Crown Court.
At the start of the trial in December the prosecution called customers as witnesses, who described their disappointment with the attraction.
They said they experienced fairy lights hung from trees, tethered dogs, a plastic polar bear and a broken ice rink instead of the promised magical festive treat.
Brothers Henry, 60, and Victor Mears, 67, both from Brighton, deny charges of misleading customers over Lapland New Forest, which ran during Christmas 2008 at Matchams.
During his evidence Henry Mears said he made no money from the event and it delivered everything that was promised.
Victor Mears admitted taking “a bit of a gamble”, setting up the attraction without investing cash, believing that money would come in as tickets were sold.
