BOURNEMOUTH children’s services are performing well, an Ofsted inspection has found.
The majority of the town’s children’s services, including day care, education provision for very young children, adoption services, sixth-form provision, special school and pupil referral unit provision and children’s homes, have been classed as good or better by Ofsted’s inspectors. They also noted a fall in teenage pregnancies, an increase in the number of young people taking part in sport and a comparatively low number of overweight children in the town.
But they expressed concern that children from poorer families have less chance of achieving five good GCSEs and recommended this as an area for further development.
