REVAMPED designs for Bournemouth’s Pavilion Gardens, including a multi-screen cinema, could be a reality by 2012.
Yesterday councillors gave the go-ahead to developer Osborne Bournemouth Limited’s ideas for the town centre site.
The aim is to get an application to council planners by March 2011, so work can start later in the year.
Council leader Peter Charon said: “We will crank it up and move very quickly indeed now.”
A special cabinet meeting will be called to consider a final decision.
Developer Trevor Osborne told the Daily Echo he was encouraged to get the go-ahead.
“It gives me great pleasure to know that we shall continue to work together on a project that will bring massive improvements to Bournemouth,” he said.
