Let’s hope the new owners of the Dolphin Centre and Poole Council devise an improved, more sensible approach to shop rents as we see yet another valued trader close the doors at the end of December apparently forced out by unsustainable rental fees.

I refer to Fabricland on the upper level of the Dolphin Centre. The shop will close and move to Wallisdown to combine with another branch leaving Poole with absolutely nowhere to buy a zip, a button, patterns or fabric, not essential products in the eyes of the majority, I appreciate, but in the current climate surely we should be encouraging creativity and thriftiness not forcing it out leaving another “useful” shop to the perils of yet another charity, phone or pound store.
