PLANS to close a Bournemouth day centre to save money have been approved by council bosses.

The Ensbury day centre in Ensbury Park is set to close in January to save £228,000 a year.

The 25 elderly people who currently attend the day centre will be moved to Alumhurst in Westbourne, which has spare places.

Cllr Lynda Price, cabinet member for health and social care, said: “Protecting frontline services is the most critical point, the ultimate aim is to protect as many vulnerable people as possible.”
