MAINSTAYS of progressive rock giants Yes, keyboards king Rick Wakeman and lyricist Jon Anderson have come together again for a 20-date UK tour that includes Poole’s Lighthouse tomorrow night.

As well as the classic Yes album including Close to the Edge, Fragile and, of course, Tales From Topographic Oceans, the pair have recorded more than a hundred albums between them including The Six Wives Of Henry VIII, Journey To The Centre Of The Earth and Olias Of Sunhillow.

In recent years Jon (pictured right) has given free rein to his creativity with painting, while Rick (left) is as much in demand as a raconteur as he is for his music.

But the temptation to play together again was too great to resist.

“Jon and I embarked on an acoustically driven two-man tour around the UK in 2006,” says Rick. “Not only was it thoroughly enjoyable, but it showed our music, both as soloists and as part of Yes, in a completely new light.”

The tour, billed as the Anderson Wakeman Project 360, features classic Yes material and performances of new jointly composed Anderson Wakeman songs written especially for this tour, intertwined with anecdotes from the two legendary ambassadors of rock.

“We have a great energy together and we have written some new songs for the tour,” says Jon.

The best of the new material will be collated for a new album to be called The Living Tree and a live DVD.
