A RAPPER dramatically arrested at gunpoint in a case of mistaken identity at Bournemouth Railway station is to embark on a five-date tour of the UK.

Nzube Udezue, better known to rap fans as Zuby, headlines the Hip Hop Lives tour this October which includes a gig at Mr Kyps in Poole.

Zuby received an apology from Dorset Police after the 2008 incident, captured by a Daily Echo reader on his mobile phone.

The images were quickly beamed around the world.

Zuby, who has a first class degree in Computer Science from Oxford University and whose parents live in Bournemouth, has completed three albums to date.

He said: “I’ve been working hard for years, releasing and promoting my music independently and building up my fanbase so I wanted to get on to the road to reach new people and prove that hip hop is alive and well.

“I got some of the top young talents in the country together to put on a showcase that’s truly special and different from the usual urban music people have come to expect.”

Zuby is supported on the tour by Scarz, the man behind 2006 hit You Got Boy’d.

Mr ShaoDow who recently collaborated with Zuby on a new track called Actin Up, will also appear.

The tour calls at the Soul Cellar in Southampton on October 1, the Bullingdon Arms in Oxford on October 10, The Rhythm Factory in London on October 12, Mr Kyps in Poole on October 14 and The Sweatbox in Wantage on October 15.
