A by-election will be held to fill a vacancy on Blandford Town Council.
The election will be held to replace Peter Randall, who has represented the town’s Hilltop ward since 2001.
A recent town council meeting heard that Mr Randall had been unable to attend meetings regularly since February.
Cllr Hayden White paid tribute to his former colleague’s service to residents.
Voting forms for people in the Hilltop ward will be available from the town council’s offices in Church Lane until Friday, September 17. An election will be held on Thursday, October 14.
