A TEAM of Bournemouth web designers have been training in the New Forest for a tough 30-mile charity hike on Dartmoor with the aim of raising £1,000 for ShelterBox.
Damian Proctor from New Milton and colleagues David Burton, Paul Seys and Jamie White from Westbourne, have been spurred to raise money for the charity after learning of its work in providing disaster victims with a tent and the essentials for living in Haiti and Pakistan.
Their two-day challenge starts on Saturday with a 20-mile hike carrying a ShelterBox plus all their equipment for surviving a night on the moors.
The following morning they will have to pack up their kit and continue their circuit for another 10 miles before ending up where they started.
Damian has enjoyed training with his dog Morph in the forest in recent months.
David said: “The Dartmoor Challenge encompasses walking, survival, the challenge of carrying the box and kit, camping and good old-fashioned fun with a group of friends.”
