A COUNTRY house which was the setting for a major movie is to hold a special screening of the film.
Director and writer Julian Fellowes will be returning to Athelhampton House (pictured), where he shot much of his film From Time to Time, on Monday, September 13, for its first screening before it is released in selected cinemas.
The film was shot in October 2008, with the cast including Dame Maggie Smith, Timothy Spall, Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville.
It was filmed at 15th century Athelhampton as well as nearby Puddletown and the village’s St Mary’s Church.
It is an adaptation of Lucy Bonnet’s series of books The Children of Green Knowe and tells the story of a 13-year-old boy in post-war Britain who goes to stay at the old home of his grandmother, played by Dame Maggie.
While there he is visited by ghostly apparitions from 200 years ago that reveal clues to his family history.
