Teddies to mark the funeral of Parkstone schoolboy Chris Hall, six

A MASS of teddy bears is expected to mark the funeral of schoolboy Christopher Hall this week.

Little Chris, as he was known, was found dead alongside his dad, also named Chris, at their Parkstone home last month.

The family has requested that those attending Friday’s funeral service bring a teddy with a message for Little Chris.

A family notice placed in Saturday’s Daily Echo read: “Tragically taken from his mummy Rachel and his big sister Lauren.

“Much loved by all of his family, friends and school friends.

“Everyone is so sad that there was such little time to share with Little Chris.”

The family has also asked for any donations to be made to the Pop 4 Diabetes charity.

Little Chris, six, was diabetic and needed daily insulin injections. Iris Board, from Pop 4 Diabetes, is a friend of Mr Hall’s brother, Duncan.

She said the charity wanted to do what it could to remember Little Chris.

“We felt that Chris was part of the family of diabetic children,” she said.

“We want to work together with his family to keep his memory alive.”

The charity is also set to introduce a memorial award, named after Little Chris, at their annual gala evening.

“The trophy will recognise inspirational children who are coping with diabetes, but also other issues in their lives,” said Mrs Board.

She added that Little Chris’s school, Courthill First, was planning to light up blue for World Diabetes Day on November 12.

An inquest previously heard how Mr Hall, a 52-year-old handyman, had been estranged from Rachel Wild, Chris’s mum and his partner of 10 years.

The parents were understood to be in a custody battle for their boy.

Mr Hall and his son were found dead, side by side in bed, on August 18.

Their causes of death have yet to be established.

Little Chris’s funeral takes place at Bournemouth North cemetery at 2pm on Friday.
