A CRACKDOWN on drug dealing in Bournemouth led to 12 arrests yesterday following a series successful raids.
Police drugs squads found drugs, cash and stolen goods in 11 homes across Boscombe, Westbourne and Lansdowne and arrested suspected dealers, all male and aged between 16 and 47.
It was part of Operation Dismantle, a countywide bid to stamp out Class A substances and the violence and prostitution associated with them.
Detective Inspector Michael Mullen, of Bournemouth police, says the drug busts were the result of months of hard work and wants people to share their fears with the force.
“I hope this action shows that we’re determined to combat alleged serious and organised crime,” he said.
“It is, as ever, essential that residents of Boscombe and the surrounding area continue to tell us about the issues in their area – whether this relates to suspected drug offences, or related activity such as burglary, thefts and prostitution.
“Anyone who has encountered violence or coercion linked to today’s arrests, and anyone with any information, is urged to come forward and talk to us in confidence.”
Police will also be working with support organisations to provide rehabilitation for people affected by alleged drug crime, including vulnerable women.
Drug users can get help and advice by calling the Drugs Action Team’s Bournemouth Assessment Team on 01202 209463.
Anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01202 222 222 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
