THE winners of this year’s Daily Echo Bournemouth Air Festival photographic competition have been announced.

In conjunction with Castle Cameras, we asked readers to send in their best snaps from the four-day event.

Despite the dodgy weather, we received plenty of great photographs, and the judges have now chosen the winners.

Winner in the adult category for a superb shot of the Breitling Wingwalkers performing over a choppy sea was Leslie Budzynski from Poole.

“I’m absolutely thrilled,” said Leslie. “I was on my way to visit my son who works at the pier when I just took the snap.

“I was going to come back with my tripod but then, of course, that never happened because of the weather. So I just decided to change the snap to black and white and send it in.”

Leslie wins a Sony Alpha NEX5 digital camera, courtesy of Castle Cameras.

Top shot in the junior category was Alice Tilley, 14, who took the fantastic picture on the right, again of the Breitling Wingwalkers, this time passing over the seafront while a beach worker looks on in front of a deckchair.

Alice, who managed to locate a rare piece of blue sky over the weekend, said: “I entered last year but didn’t have any luck, so it is amazing I have won this time.”

Having taken up photography two years ago, she now cannot wait to pick up her prize – a Pentax Optio WS80 digital camera from Castle Cameras.
