BANDS are set to rock Weymouth harbour at the Quayside Music Festival over the bank holiday weekend.

Local groups and DJs will be performing at the harbourside on Sunday and Monday.

The event, organised by the Rendezvous bar, is free to attend with outside bars serving drinks and cocktails.

Rendezvous’ general manager Keith Treggiden said he was looking forward to the event and anticipated it would be bigger than the last festival in May.

He said: “We’ve got 23 bands performing over two days and we’re expecting to have a massive turnout again.

“Hopefully it’s going to be bigger than the last festival and we’ve had a lot of people asking us about this.

“All we need now is for the weather to be kind to us.”

The music will start at noon and finish at around 10pm each day, with the Rendezvous Club open until 6am.

On Sunday, local bands The Fade, Low Numbers and Dinnerladies will be performing in the afternoon followed by Johnny Cash tribute act The Man in Black, The Speedway Snails, Freak Circus and Paisley.

On Sunday evening, there will be a performance from The Travelling Blueberries, Hybrid and a headline set at 9pm from The Stereoironics.

On Monday, the Mad Ox Brothers, Hustle, Zoe and Co and Flybone Yellow will be followed by Lady Gaga tribute All About Gaga, performed by Leanne Diva Lea Warne.

This will be followed by performances from Girl Toyz, Shooter, Bebe and Paulo, Four-wheel Drive and a headline performance at 9pm by Big Gunz. Exact times for each band’s performance can be found on Facebook by searching for Quayside Music Festival. Music for the event is being supplied by Danny Addams music production and staging supplied by local firm Weyscaff.
