Revellers gather at Lulworth Castle for Camp Bestival

BUMPER crowds have flocked to historic Lulworth Castle for this year’s Camp Bestival.

Music fans were treated to headliners George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic on Friday night.

Madness are topping the bill on Saturday, with Friendly Fires among the highlights on Sunday.

Traffic reportedly slowed to a crawl approaching the site on Friday, with more revellers heading into Purbeck today.

Around 30,000 people are expected over the weekend.

Other top name performers include The Human League, Billy Bragg, Calvin Harris, Tinie Tempah and Ellie Goulding.

The English National Ballet and children’s favourite Mr Tumble are also set to perform at the fairytale-themed family festival.

A full round-up of pictures will be available in Monday’s Daily Echo.

Yeah thanks.... got caught in the ridiculous traffic jams around Wareham today. Took me an hour to get from Wareham to the Baker's Arms roundabout. Why can't these performers s*d off to the IOW and take their fans with them?

It's nice to have festivals etc in Dorset as it brings in revenue but the result is always the same...gridlock. It will always be like this unless something is done with the roads in the area. lack of investment and lack of the understanding of how traffic works. Yes I agree it's a pain in the bum being sat in a queue for a hour but people do this on the A351 every single day trying to get to a place of work where money is earn't to pay TAX for things that we need and one of those things is good access to busy places which this county doesn't have. What we do is have is half finished dual carriageways, sub standard A roads, B roads that resemble dirt tracks and more overhanging vegetation than you can swing a stick at. Then there's SSSI which completely and utterly stops any form of upgrade, roads or building. If you want to live slow then you're in the right place, traffic is everywhere and Dorset has it's fair share but Dorset is a brilliant example of a bottle neck.

Total chaos as it was last year, move it somewhere that has the roads to cope with it
