IT’S been “double lollipops” at Brockenhurst Primary School for the past fortnight.
But there’s no worries about tooth decay, because these lollipops are sugar-free.
The first is a regular at the Sway Road school. He’s lollipop man Geoff Field, a popular past winner of the New Forest round of Hampshire County Council’s school crossing person competition.
The second is cute and has been perched in a playground tree for the past week as an entry in the scarecrow section of the Brockenhurst Open Gardens event, run by the village hall committee.
Mr Field, who lives in Gore Road, New Milton was pleased with his “twin”.
“It’s really quite good. I think so, anyway,” he said.
There were 13 gardens open to the public and 36 entries in the village’s first scarecrow competition.
Gardens’ organiser Wink Janes said 300 adults paid to view the gardens and the total raised for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will be more than £2,700.
The scarecrow competition winner will be announced later.
