IT’S the stuff of dreams… enjoying a Florida holiday while someone else moves house for you.

Thanks to the airspace ban and Brewer and Brewer estate agents, it became a reality for one West Moors family of five who returned home after three and a half weeks to a different house.

Nigel and Sara Bedford are amazed the agency, in Station Road, sorted the contracts, hired a removal van and moved boxes for them.

Mr Bedford, 37, said: “We were in such capable hands.

“When they rang us to say ‘Are you going to be back in time?’, I hadn’t even heard of the volcano yet.

“They just sprang into action, moved five people’s gear and we literally came back to a different house to the one we’d left.

“We’re going to have a bit of a bash now to say thanks.”

The family, who finally arrived back on Tuesday, April 27, had expected to have a week to organise moving from Pennington Close to Moorlands Road.

Their buyers had given notice on rented accommodation, so the move had to go ahead.

Estate agent of 30 years Keith Brewer said: “We’re international problem solvers now.

“It took a lot of calls and liasing but we made it happen.

“We’ve got a lot of experience so called in a few favours.

“Moving house is difficult at the best of times and it was nice to be able to help people stranded 3,000 miles away.”

Mr Brewer, colleague Rachel Brown and volunteers even cleaned both houses and read the family’s meters.
