SCORES of people are expected to line the funeral procession route in memory of Poole firefighter Jim Shears on Friday.
The cortege will pass Poole fire station for a salute of honour before heading into Oakdale.
The public is asked to join Dorset and Hampshire firefighters in lining Johnston Road as the procession passes at 10.15am.
At 10.30am, the cortege will be lead down to St George’s church on Darby’s Lane for the funeral service at 11am.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue are advising the public that a large crowd is expected at the church and seating will be reserved for family, friends and work colleagues.
However, the service will be broadcast on audio speakers outside the church and on a screen in the adjacent church hall.
Mr Shears was one of two firefighters killed in a blaze at the Shirley Towers high-rise flats in Southampton on April 6.
