PHIL Allen’s family has released one of his own songs as a single to raise funds for the regiment’s Care for Casualties appeal.
More Time features Phil playing every instrument and singing lead and backing vocals.
More than 220 members of The Rifles, who are the successors to the Devon and Dorsets, have been injured and several have been triple amputees.
Some of the money will also go to ABF The Soldiers Charity, formerly the Army Benevolent Fund.
Phil’s mum Karen said: “It’s his own lyrics and music. He made it with a 20-track studio.
“He lived for his music and taught himself to play all the instruments.
“At the moment people can order it through me. I am in talks with HMV, who are interested in selling it, and a music shop in Wimborne will sell it.”
Karen plans eventually to release an album.
Phil’s music can be heard by visiting the website myspace. com/philallenonline.
Copies of the single can be bought by emailing Karen at kazcharsen@ uwclub.net, and also at a football match in Phil's memory in Verwood Saturday (see link below for details).
