MORE than 2,200 people have so far taken part in a council survey to help decide what should take the place of the unpopular Imax building on Bournemouth seafront.
Residents now have less than a week left to rate the seven options shortlisted by the council for the prestigious Waterfront site.
The online survey takes a few minutes to complete and can be found at bournemouth.gov.uk/waterfront. It closes at 5pm on Thursday.
Alternatively, people can discuss the plans at a Westcliff community open meeting on Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm in St Michael’s School, or at Southbourne Area Forum on Thursday from 7pm in Immanuel Church, Southbourne Road.

The shortlisted ideas include l a water park l an interactive arts activity centre and museum l tropical gardens l a spa l a performing arts space with amphitheatre l a family play park l boutiques and bistros.
Council leader Cllr Stephen MacLoughlin said: “I am delighted that so many people have taken part in the consultation.
“This feedback will influence the council’s decisions about the Imax replacement, so please don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of creating something very exciting for Bournemouth.”
The council stresses that the aim of the new development will be to improve the sea views and create an all-weather attraction that is commercially viable, successful and can be enjoyed by people from all walks of life.
It also wants to create a building of which residents can be proud.

I think a massive 300 foot high pole with a gigantic pair of goolies at the top of it with masses of flashing lights that spells out 'O.K.A.Y T.O. W.A.T.C.H...P.O.R.N. " This should be in honour of the gargantuan balls up or truly biblical proportions that BCC have so magnificently accomplished in rubbishing the good name of Bournemouth with their 3 epic fluff ups 1) The IMAX White Elephant - and buying back their own lease with tax payers money. Even Jimmy Connor's backhand was nothing compared to your skills. 2) The Surf Reef - £3,655,454 - wasted tax payers money on a doomed White Elephant which by the way will NEVER work no matter how many 'tweaks' you give it (explain to me please council morons how you 'Tweak' 1000 tonnes of sand in bags on the sea bed?) 3) Mr Spanky McPersonal-Bits and his incredible ability to keep his job whilst sacking others for lesser offences. I was chatting to someone well respected in the City and when he asked where I lived and I said Bournemouth he said, and I quote, 'Ah that would be the backhanded seaside town full of liars and bent Councils workers and werent you mugged for £3.6m for a dodgy reef that the company who built them have never made a single one that works anywhere in the world' and he laughed all the way down the corridor. Well done BCC....I will salute your goolies on a pole if you erect it on the site of the IMAX. The biggest balls up monument in Europe...well done to you all http://www.ft.com/cm s/s/2/5d3fbe80-30a4- 11df-a24b-00144feabd c0.html
