Texaco at Springbourne roundabout was 117.9 when i drove past this morning...on the way back, 25 mins later, it was 118.9 :-( Went to the BP at Spur Road in the end for 116.9 only peeny dearer than Tesco further along. Not worth driving around for a saving now. Used to be worth saving....Poole is always a bit cheaper i find :-)

Sainsbury's at Talbot Heath, Alder Rd, as of yesterday is £113.9 for both Diesel and Unleaded. Why when the barrell is at its lowest for some time, our government agrees on fuel price rises, and then adds another 3p per litre as 1st April. Roll on May. This will make it aroun £5.30 a gallon, and I suspect that nearly £4 of that is all levies and taxes.

Thats why i gave up my car, fortunatley for me i could,i do feel for the people that have to use a car,the government use fuel tax as a license to extort money from the public

Yes, and then look forward to May when Tory Boy returns and reintroduces the Fuel Price Escalator at 5% above inflation, as when he was one of Lamont's economic advisers. But, as a matter of interest, their interest rate was only 15% in those halcyon days!
Save with Dave....I think I'd sooner Drown with Brown!

Its the fuel companies making excessive profits during a time of low crude oil prices. I hope the Chancellor hits them with a windfall tax.

And as far as Dave "I'll say anything to get elected" Cameron, I'm worried that he said he wasn't aware of Lord Ashcroft being a non-dom until a month ago.

He must be the only person in the UK that doesn't read the papers or watch / listen to the news. Perhaps he wasn't present when the matter was raised in Commons. He'll make a great PM I don't think!

$3.77 for premium, Florida. Wait till next year when the socialists are looking for money to pay for their excesses.

France (SuperU and Intermarche) hovering for days around the €1.08 mark, which is about £4.90 per gallon on Diesel, a little more for Unleaded.

Just got back from a trip to Lithuania where its only 0.74€ (74 cents) a litre for unleaded including tax! BEAT THAT!

Mind you, they dont sell much, most local fuel is black market Russian or local donkey taxi :D

Parts of Western Europe have fuel prices only slightly lower than UK, but some of that is because of a weak Sterling exchange rate.

Up here in Bradford-on-Avon pump prices for unleaded are 119.9p.the highest I've seen so far are 120.9p.We always try and fill up in the Poole area when we come down as the prices are always cheaper. Why is that?

The other day I travelled over 30 miles for the cost of a bowl of cornflakes - on my bike!
.
It's estimated that when all the costs to the economy of car use are added up, each car is SUBSIDISED to the tune of £2-3,000 pa. Even with current fuel duty.
.
More to the point - how else is the government going to 'persuade' you to drive less? What's it going to take to get you out of your cars onto public & other transport? I bet the people complaining about fuel costs here are the same ones who despise congestion but won't even consider using a bus.

Some people use cars in their work.
If you live in an area where buses and trains ran frequently, and the prices were realistic..more people would use public transport.
