BOURNEMOUTH’s 200-year history is being celebrated this weekend with an outdoor photography exhibition.
As part of Bournemouth’s bi-centenary, students from the Arts University College Bournemouth devised the Through The Lens project.
Photographers from across the town were asked to submit pictures documenting Bournemouth’s culture and history.
Those photographs, supplemented by images from Bournemouth Library’s archive of the town’s centenary celebrations in 1910, have now been turned into an exhibition being displayed on the pier.
Gemma Brown, from the Through the Lens project, said “We were thrilled by the public’s enthusiastic and generous response. We talked to all the photographic societies in the town and they have responded magnificently.
"Our project reflects the public’s view of Bournemouth and the time they spend in it.”
We asked the organisers to pick their favourites from the exhibition to give you a sneak peek - and here are just a few.
You can see the full exhibition on Bournemouth Pier until Monday – or click here to see more.
