SHE may be only seven years old but little Holly Fear has already notched up a wealth of dog training experience that could earn her a top award.
The youngster from Bransgore has just been nominated by the Young Kennel Club for her dedication and help in running dog shows with her local training club, K9 Training and Advisory Centre run by her mum.
Since she was three years old Holly has been helping mum Madeleine out, more recently running a dog show at the Merryfield Park ground in Bransgore where the group hold their training and behavioural sessions.
Madeleine said: “I am so proud of her. She is a complete natural with the animals, which is why she has received this nomination.
“Holly is really excited about going to Crufts. We’ve got four dogs – three bearded collies and a Yorkshire terrier – so she’s been around dogs her whole life. She just really enjoys it.”
The Shaun McAlpine Outstanding Young Person Award is the highest level of achievement for the country’s young dog owners and will be presented at a special ceremony at Crufts on March 14 in Birmingham.
The award was set-up in memory of Shaun, who died in 1984, to encourage young dog-lovers like him to continue their work.
