A TEENAGER has pleaded guilty to a savage attack on a young manager in a crime-hit lane in Boscombe.

Nick Verron, 25, was left fighting for his life in Southampton Hospital after he was stabbed in the head by the 18-year-old in Roumelia Lane as he walked home.

Mr Verron, who worked as a business development manager at Poseidon Telecom Services Ltd, had moved to the area from Oxford just six months before the attack in the early hours of Saturday, July 4.

Mr Verron is now unable to walk unaided and has problems with his vision.

He will probably require further surgery on an injury to his jaw and he is unable to live independently detectives told the Echo.

The 18-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent before Bournemouth Crown Court.

He was remanded into custody and appears for sentence on April 8.

Mr Verron’s boss David Hamer said that Mr Verron was one of the youngest to work at the Ferndown-based firm describing him as “very bright and intelligent”.

Mum Sue Verron, speaking from Southampton Hospital in July, said that her son had received messages of support from all over the world following the attack.

She added: “Nick is a highly successful telecom salesman and he’s had friends, colleagues and school friends keeping up a constant stream of visitors at his bedside.”
