THE youngest and oldest residents of Blandford will help to open the town’s new parish centre.

A 100-year-old resident will line up alongside three four-year-old children representing the town’s primary schools on Saturday February 27.

The Rector of Langton Long, Rev Tim Storey, said: “Our vision for this project has been ‘to build a place where Church and community meet’ and so it is a true privilege to have the community represented in this way at the opening.

“We know it will be a memorable day for all of us!” said Rev Storey.

Centenarian, George Campion, has lived for over 35 years in Hanover Court and celebrated his 100th birthday on last October.

Milldown Primary School pupil, Jazmine Andrews, Langley Weight from the Archbishop Wake primary school, and Alfie Dade from Downlands Primary School – all aged four – will fly the flag for the town’s youth.

The ceremony starts at 2.30pm.
