DISABLED skier Russell Docker hopes it will be third time lucky at next month’s Winter Paralympic Games.
Russell, who was born in Poole and now lives in Blandford, was delighted to be named in the winter paralympic squad for a third time.
Despite once being told he would never walk following a freak accident in 1995, he placed well in both Salt Lake City 2002 and Turin 2006 but missed out on podium finishes.
He will travel to Whistler in Canada next month with high hopes of winning a medal from one of five different events.
Using his specially created mono-ski, he will compete in the downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom and super combined.
Paul Gould, a physio from local firm BWT, will travel with him to ensure his preparation goes smoothly.
