A DEVOTED dad has given his three children a Christmas to remember after erecting a 40ft tree which shoots up through three floors of their home.

The stunning stunt requires Greig Howe to cut the towering fir into three equal parts with the bottom chunk filling up the lounge and the middle section squeezed into the bedroom above.

It's not the first time Mr Howe has gone to so much trouble...

The top third is then hoisted into position by a crane and placed on the roof directly above to give the illusion that the whole tree takes up the entire house.

The novelty has delighted Greig’s three children; Harry, 12, four-year-old Roni and two-year-old Fin, causing great amusement for neighbours and passers-by at Carbery Avenue, Bournemouth.

Greig relies on his friends to help cut the giant £400 tree, erect it and decorate it with 200 baubles and 2,000 lights.

The whole operation takes five days but Greig, 36, said: “It has all been worth it; it looks fantastic. I did it for the first time last year and the kids really loved it.

“It is a bit of an optical illusion because it appears to be one huge tree that has shot up through the ceilings and out through the roof.”
