TWO people were led to safety by fire-fighters during a property fire in Shaftesbury in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Eighteen fire-fighters fought the blaze which started in the kitchen of a second floor flat in Coppice Street, Shaftesbury, at around 2.46am.
The crews from Shaftesbury and Gillingham extinguished the fire using one hosereel jet and two breathing apparatus.
The fire was out by around 3.11am.
The cause of the fire was thought to be accidental and caused light smoke damage to the entire flat.
A spokesperson for Dorset Fire and Rescue said that neighbours raised the alarm after being alerted by smoke alarms.
People should make sure they have smoke alarms fitted to their property and that they are in good working order she added.
