A FORMER airport chief has died at his Bournemouth home.
Peter Course, who was operations director at Bournemouth airport until 1989, passed away on November 19.
His funeral service will be held on Monday at Bourne-mouth crematorium followed by a reception for family and friends later at Westbourne Conservative Club.
Mr Course was born in Winchester and his ambitions took off as a 17-year-old air cadet at the ATC Gliding School at the old Christchurch airport.
He worked in various parts of the world as well as Luton and Chilbolton near Andover.
The ex-RAF navigator managed Humberside airport for International Air Radio before securing the post of deputy director of Hurn airport.
Speaking at the time of his 11 “very happy” years at the airport, he told the Echo that it was one of the finest airports in the south of England, with “terrific potential.”
Mr Course leaves his wife Maggie and daughter Tracey.
