Council advises official A338 alternative route

DORSET County Council have published the offical alternative route to avoid the A338 roadworks.
On a section of the dorsetforyou website set up to give information about the Spur Road roadworks, it says: "Dorset County Council has adopted the alternative route that is implemented by Dorset Police in the event of an incident on the Bournemouth Spur Road. Alternative routes will be clearly signposted.
"The main alternative route avoiding the entirety of the Bournemouth Spur Road will be to follow the A31 Ringwood Road southbound from the Ashley Heath Interchange, the A347 Ringwood Road, the A347 New Road, the A347 Whitelegg Way and the A3060 Castle Lane West towards the Cooper Dean Interchange, and back again for the reverse route.
"For access to Bournemouth International Airport and the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospital, use the B3073 Parley Lane and Christchurch Road.
"Matchams Lane and Hurn Road (C167) should not be used as an alternative route."
