DRIVERS taking short cuts through Bournemouth’s Kings Park will get a £60 fine from today if they are caught.
Bournemouth council has been urging motorists to use the correct diversionary routes while Boscombe’s Ashley Road is closed for bridge repairs.
The council said it will now start to crackdown on people who do not follow these diversionary routes: l From the west via Wessex Way to St Paul’s and St Swithun’s Roundabouts and on Christchurch Road l From the north and east leave the A338 Spur Road at Cooper Dean and follow the ‘Boscombe’ signs to go via Iford then onto Christchurch Road and through Pokesdown l From Bournemouth Town Centre or Christchurch, the normal route via Christchurch Road is not affected.
The council said the Kings Park route has been opened to buses only.
There is also a temporary park and ride scheme in Kings Park. People can park for free then pay a 10p return to get one of eight buses an hour into Boscombe.
