FORTY people have been evacuated from their homes following a gas explosion on a building site in Ferndown.
Ringwood Road has been closed in both directions between Tricketts Cross roundabout and Victoria Road since 1.30pm as emergency services work at the scene.

All of the residents of Manor Close have been evacuated from their homes. Children have been led from a nursery on nearby Carroll Avenue.
Fire fighters have almost extinguished the flaming gas main, which exploded at about 1pm today (Oct 16).
Gas supplies to surrounding homes have been cut as engineers work to reduce pressure in the damaged pipe.
No-one has been injured.
