A'ishah's dad: I don't know where my baby is

THE father of missing toddler A’ishah Sabra has broken his silence denying any involvement in her disappearance.

Saber Mesbah Sabra claims he did not take the two-year-old from her mother Leila Sabra and does not know where she is.

A’ishah went missing in the Hurghada resort in Egypt on May 16 when she was on holiday with Leila and the toddler’s grandmother Barbara Maas, who lives and work in Bournemouth.

She has not been seen since, although Leila said she managed to speak with her on the phone a week after she disappeared.

Leila has worked tirelessly to find her daughter.

She returned to England in September and gained the support of her local MP, the president of her mosque and the stars of Coronation Street.

And since flying back to Cairo, Leila has had meetings with the secret police and the British Embassy, who have all pledged to help find A’ishah.

But speaking to the Echo yesterday Saber said: “I have no idea where A’ishah is.

“The authorities are following me everywhere I go.

“They are at my work, they have been to my home, they are watching my phone calls and they watch when I go home.

“A’ishah is a little baby.

“I would not take a baby from her mother – that’s not logic.”

When asked if he or his family had A’ishah, Saber said: “I swear to God no.

“This is all a game.”

He added: “I am doing my best to look for my baby in Egypt.”

Businessman Saber sells quadbiking excursions at three venues in the Hurghada resort, located on the Red Sea coast, including the Lillyland Beach Club.

Now the holiday firm RCI, which sends hundreds of British families to stay at Lillyland every year, has told a newspaper it has launched an investigation.

Speaking about Saber’s claims, heartbroken Leila said: “This is not a game – this is about the life of my little girl.

“Where is she?”
