Ronan Keating will play the BIC on Mother's Day

RONAN Keating has provided the perfect gift for Mother’s Day next March by announcing a show at the BIC on March 20.

Tickets go on sale on Fridaymorning for the concert in which the former Boyzone singer will showcase tracks from his most recent album, Songs For My Mother as well as performing some of his greatest hits.

Ronan, who lost his mother to breast cancer in 1998, recorded his album in just two days shortly before Christmas. It’s a collection of songs that Ronan remembers his mum listening to throughout his childhood. Along with traditional folk songs such as Wild Mountain Thyme and Carrickfergus, it includes tracks by revered musicians such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Elvis, as well as Ronan’s version of Joshua Kadison’s song Mama’s Arms, a song that helped Ronan through his grieving.

The album also features a new version of Ronan's hit This Is Your Song, which he originally wrote for his parents and included on his chart-topping 2002 solo album, Destination.
