PRECOCIOUS Buccaneers talent Jerran Hart has a simple message for Pirates promoter Matt Ford: “Please give me a taste of Elite League action for Poole.”

The 18-year-old Bournemouth Castle Cover rider has soared to the top of the National League outfit’s scoring charts alongside Aussie star Jay Herne this season.

But Hart, who lines up for Buccaneers at home to Plymouth at Poole in the league tonight (7.30pm), is not content to simply ply his trade in the third-tier at Wimborne Road for Pirates’ nursery side.

He also wants to pull on a skull and crossbones race jacket as a guest rider for Poole and pit his wits against some of the world’s best riders in the top flight.

Hart, who also rides for Scunthorpe in the Premier League, is a quick learner, and as British speedway’s rules allow it, he made his Elite League bow as Ipswich’s number eight against Pirates last week!

Hart said: “I know I’m Ipswich’s number eight, but I could definitely still do a guest’s job for Poole.

“Matt’s had to use guests already this season, so I hope my displays here remind him I’m about.

“If Matt gave me the chance, I’d take it.”

Devils entertain Bournemouth in the cup, semi-final, first leg on Saturday, July 25 and Buccaneers team manager Garry May confirmed Hart will take part in that meeting, which is crucial to the Dorset team’s double hopes.

May said: “Jerran rides for Scunthorpe at home to King’s Lynn on July 24 and at Glasgow on July 26, so we’re going to fly him to Scotland after our meeting to make sure we have our strongest team at Plymouth.”
