Are you taking part in the Big Lunch?

HOW well do you know your neighbours? On Sunday, July 19, streets up and down the country will be getting round the table together for the Big Lunch.

Set up by the Eden Project, the main aim is to unite communities by bringing them together for food, conversation and entertainment.

To find out if your neighbourhood is participating, to organise your own party or find out more about the campaign, visit thebiglunch.com

If you have already arranged your own Big Lunch, we’d love to hear from you! Leave a comment below or email sarah.cartlidge@bournemouthecho.co.uk

I live in Ferndown and had not heard about this.

May I make a suggestion there are several roads in and out of Ferndown perhaps in the future something so worth while could be allowed to "advertise" its self on signs on the approaches so the residents have plenty of warning. Fantastic idea and well done all.

shame the local council isn't supporting the Ferndown event - on the other had probably a good job they aren't involved - will be a great day i'll be there

Sasha1, The local councils are supporting the event. The District are coming along with their play bus to provide games and activities for children.
The town council have generously given £200 to cover insurance and field rental.

In the past the Echo has slapped my wrist (and deleted posts) when I mention in comments my website (ferndown.me) or local events.
