BUSINESS suits made way for beachwear as companies joined forces for the Julia’s House Beach Fun Day.
Employees from a host of Bournemouth and Poole businesses competed in sandcastle contests, beach volleyball and an It’s A Knockout-style challenge on Bournemouth beach in a bid to raise thousands for children’s hospice Julia’s House.
Nationwide, which raised £4,000 in last year’s event, were joined by fellow corporate friends of the charity, including Poole Audi, Qualcomm, Apple Conservatories, Randstad, RBS and Marriott Hotels, with each one organising one of the fun day activities.
Jane Errington, Julia’s House corporate fundraiser, said: “We are thrilled that so many companies came together to raise vital funds for Julia’s House.
“It’s been a fun-filled day involving companies from all sectors, raising a lot of money for life-limited and life-threatened Dorset children.”
The day was rounded off with an evening at the new Coyote Ugly bar in the IMAX building, which donated a percentage of sales on the day to the charity.
