"Murray mount" is hit with Bournemouth

ANDY Murray might not have won his Wimbledon semi-final on Friday but Bournemouth's very own Murray Mount proved a big hit.

These pictures were taken by one of the Echo's Flickr photographers, Dawn V, and added to our Year in the Life group, a stunning visual record of a year in Dorset.

Obviously not the same atmosphere experienced on Monday night during the marathon 5-setter.

Plenty of loud swearing from the group of 30-something alcoholics, we couldn't see the screen for the amount of pointless milling around by most of them...

Then one of them tries to start a fight with a normal guy who is sat on a deckchair and is at one stage nose-to-nose...

A rather intimidating atmosphere - family oriented it was not.

Perhaps making that area alcohol free would have probably have prevented this happening, as undoubtedly they'd have enjoyed their Special Brew somewhere else and let everyone else watch it in peace.

Why not use the now defunct IMAX as a cooling down area for people who have had one too many. Blanket-banning adults from enjoying a glass of wine with the tennis might not be necesary as a result.

In addition, the empty Jumpin' Jacks could be used as a prison. It could easily become as famous as Alcatraz. Then you could buy Bournemouth rock as a souvenir from 'The Bournemouth Rock'. I'm seconding this great idea.

There IS a sign saying about alcohol restriction, what is the difference to alcohol free? There should have been security guys there who could phone the coppers who would have turned up and poured their beer down the nearest drain - that would have kept them away! Come on, something for free that lot would be bound to be there - they probably ain't got the slightest interest in the tennis....

My on complaint personally is the volume from the equipment - does the volume have to be so loud, it is deafening sometimes. Heart had the volume up REALLY high I had to move away. We can hear bands playing in the bandstand from the Triangle sometimes!!
