A 44-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist has died in a head-on collision with a car in north Dorset.
The accident happened at 8.48pm on Thursday June 4 on the A30 at East Stour.
The man was riding a Suzuki motorcycle from East Stour towards Shaftesbury when it was in collision with a Toyota Yaris travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider, from the Sturminster Newton area, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted by the Dorset Police helicopter to Dorset County Hospital. He died a short time later.
The 47-year-old driver of the car, from the Sherborne area, sustained slight injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact PC Simon Fairholme at Sherborne road policing unit on 01202 222222.
