STUDENTS at Ringwood School are being asked to draw up a design for a community badge for residents to wear with pride.

Ringwood Loyalty Discount Scheme originator Jim Stride has come up with the idea for the lapel badge to help boost community events during the credit crunch.

The idea is people donate £5 or more for a metal badge which will go towards the cost of community events like Ringwood Festival, the Carnival, the Pedal Car Grand Prix and the Christmas Parade. Additionally, the school will get a donation, too.

“I’m hoping to have it launched in July or August,” said Mr Stride, who is behind the Daily Echo-backed Ringwood Loyalty Discount Scheme and the coach party meet and greet plan.
