Although various advances in technology have made it easier for people to donate (e.g. Just Giving.com), the question you're asking people is still, 'Can you give me some money for nothing in return except a nice warm feeling inside?'

Quite often the answer is, 'Yes of course how much?' but then there are always the awkward water cooler moments where you may have emailed round the office asking for support and know exactly who has and who hasn't got back to you...

I've taken part in a fair few fundraising events in my time (I’m not trying to sound sanctimonious, I never seem to actually raise much money!).

These events include running, cycling, swimming, walking and putting marshmallows in my mouth whilst saying 'chubby bunnies'.

My upcoming event and the focus of this blog is the Bournemouth Bay 10k (yes I know there's a half marathon but I know my limits!).

I haven't started training and I so far have only raised a pithy £20...so please sponsor me.

My target is currently £100 but i'd love to smash this amount. I intend to put in 5k tonight doing Bournemouth to Boscombe pier and repeat each few days. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I'll be running in the blue and green colours of my club - 'Purbeck Runners' so look out for me. Throw money at me if you like...it will all be going to a great charity, The British Heart Foundation.
