ICY roads caused ‘very dangerous conditions’ and a series of accidents on Dorset’s road this morning.
A Ford Mondeo registered to a Poole man overturned blocking the A357 near the Fiddleford Inn just before 7am. Police said black ice had created “very dangerous conditions” and the local authority was requested to grit urgently.
A car swerved into a fence on sheet ice on lanes near Queen Elizabeth School in Wimborne just after 7am, leaving smashed glass across the road. The woman driver of a gold Vauxhall Omega was treated by paramedics for shock.
And earlier at 6.50am a blue Peugeot 306 came off the A352 at Broadmayne, and was then rear-ended by another car that was unable to stop. A woman driver was said to be in shock.
The road was closed off temporarily due to black ice making it “particularly treacherous.”
