A LITTLE girl from Sturminster Newton has designed a Christmas card for the district’s MP.
Kate Fox, a pupil at the William Barnes Primary School, won a competition organised by the Member of Parliament for North Dorset, Bob Walter.
Mr Walter asked pupils at schools from across the district to take part in a competition to design a card on the theme Peace in the World.
Kate’s picture combined a jolly Santa Claus with a peaceful picture of the world. She won a certificate and book tokens and a visit to the Houses of Parliament.
“I am delighted to congratulate Kate, who has won despite stiff competition. All the artwork was of a very high quality but I am delighted to be sending my friends and colleagues copies of Kate’s work,” said Mr Walter.
Designs from runners-up Elise Turnbull of Shillingstone Primary School and Mia Caines of Durweston Primary School will be printed on the back of the card.
