A MAN was found with head injuries following a massive search by the emergency services of Hengistbury Head in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The search was launched at around 2.50am and involved around 20 police officers, six coastguards, the Coastguard helicopter and five lifeboat crew.
Following an hour long search the man was located by Dorset Search Dog Charlie and his coastguard companion at around 3.50am.
The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Coastguard rescue officer Andrew Edwards said: “He was very confused and really cold as it was absolutely freezing. I don’t know what his chances would have been staying out there all night.
“He was really very lucky.”
