A man is due to appear in court charged with the murder of a 62-year-old woman found suffocated and beaten in her Colliers Wood home.
Jill Grinstead's body was found at a property in Laburnum Road on Thursday after a neighbour noticed the door was open and the front window smashed.
A post-mortem at St George's Hospital mortuary revealed the cause of death was asphyxia and blunt facial trauma.
Christopher McMahon, 37, also of Laburnum Road, is due to appear before Wimbledon Magistrates Court later today.
